The southern region of Limburg, Haspengouw, is known as a fruit and blossom region. After all, the mainly sloping landscape lends itself particularly well to fruit growing and viticulture. In addition, this region has a rich historical past and you will also find traces of that.

Unique design
Huis van Hout owes its name to the wooden structure, the wooden facades and the recycled oak floors throughout the house. We found inspiration for the pointed shapes and the placement in the triangular terrain from the modernist architect Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe.
Our design furniture makes your stay luxurious and comfortable. As an interior journalist you realize that timeless designs are more sustainable than just furniture. The vintage design furniture is designed by big names in the interior world (Arne Jacobsen, Eames,...)
Off the grid
This architectural timber frame house is (almost) self-sufficient for water, heating/cooling and electricity. The soul of the house is in the recycled wooden floors and the pure materials.
Nature is never far away: the plants filter our water and the sun supplies our electricity. The house always feels cozy and is well ventilated thanks to natural insulation materials and a high-tech ventilation system.

The House of Wood is a gem in beautiful Limburg. The property itself is modern, bright, and tastefully decorated. The extensive garden was a playground for our little son, and we received the best tips to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. An oasis of tranquility, good taste, and sustainability. We spent 3 nights in - until then unknown to us - Herk-de-Stad and stayed with Graziela and Bart. Even before our arrival, we felt welcomed. The house is stunning and thoughtfully designed, meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. There is an amazing garden where our dog could roam freely. The cherry on top was the hot tub at dusk.

You immediately feel at home in this sustainable and beautifully designed house. We were able to truly seek tranquility thanks to the stunning green surroundings, the delightful sun terrace, the hot tub, and the opportunity for leisurely strolls through the orchards or longer nature hikes nearby. Bart is a wonderful host. He provides explanations and tips when needed, yet our privacy was certainly respected as well. We would love to come back again!

The house is even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures! A unique combination of luxury/vintage design, smart home technology, and sustainability. Gorgeous garden and surroundings, with wild birds, a pen with pigs and chickens, and fruit farms everywhere. The hot tub was amazing and easy to use.
Communication was impeccable, Bart and Graziela provided us with excellent recommendations and assisted us more than once, even when they were away at the time, for instance, changing the check-in time at short notice, renting bicycles, local area recommendations, and even fixing an issue with our bike.
We ordered the recommended breakfast, which was delicious and high-quality, and the portions were large - enough to keep us going all day long.
